Weiche Wu
Taiwan (China) (TW)
Weiche Wu is a Taiwanese designer. He studied Industrial Design at Chang Gung University in Taiwan and received his MA in Industrial Design from Central St. Martins, London. In addition to product design, Weiche also specialises in graphic design, photography and critical design thinking. His expertise lies in shaping products in a very visual way, which in short means designing with a priority on aesthetics. In 2011, Weiche worked with the French company, Rémy Martin, to generate a new concept for their heritage Louis XIII brand. The final outcome ’Cérémonie pour un Roi’ and ‘L'essence de Rémy Martin’ have been featured at MAISON & OBJECT in Paris, Salone in Milan, Wallpaper Magazine and in other global media. Upon graduation from Central St. Martins, he joined Benjamin Hubert’s studio in London and participated in several iconic projects such as ‘Tenda’ lamp and ‘Construction Site’ in 2012 Designjunction. In 2013, he founded Taipei based Union Atelier. The studio works on varying design commissions and collaborations; and with the deliberate intention to combine international design trends with Taiwanese traditions, the team has created, and consistently applies, their own unique signature design language.

Farzan Shamasblou is an Iranian architect and multidisciplinary designer, and has been the design director of Pratic studio since 2016. He earned his Master’s degree from IA University in Tehran after having completed his bachelor in Khayyam University of Mashhad, IRAN. Prior to founding Pratic Studio, Farzan was an associate architect at “Shirdel and Associates Architects”, and previously worked in both independent and collaborative design environments. Interested in creative problem solving and critical design thinking, Farzan has worked on multiple projects in various fields of design, including award-winning architectural projects, as well as furniture, products and artworks that have been featured in exhibitions.

Takanao Todo is an architectural designer, ceramicist, lecturer and educator for supporting dyslexia in Japanese. His major contribution in design is realization of seamless integration from object, furniture, space and to the level of operation, while applying conceptual approach enabling to share the latent narrative to wider audiences. He is challenging how Japanese tea culture can evolve outside of Japan through design also. As Takanao is the first official dyslexic Japanese, his success encourages many dyslexia in Japan, as dyslexic social awareness in Japan is not well acknowledged.
